Kashmir – Popularly known as the “Paradise on Earth”, It’s is world famous for its scenic splendour, snow-capped mountains, plentiful wildlife, exquisite monuments, hospitable people and local handicrafts.
Kashmir is an ideal destination to plan a family tour and honeymoon holiday in India. The picturesque Gulmarg, Srinagar, Pahalgam or Sonmarg, make a holiday with family, or honeymoon in Kashmir a wonderful experience. Kashmir is even home to the popular Amarnath Cave which calls the ardent devotees Lord Shiva from across the world.
Kashmir is not only pleasing to the eyes but does wonders to the taste buds with lip-smacking delicacies. Although rice has been the staple food of Kashmir since ancient times, the region has a wide array of food items that are mild in taste, rich in flavour and are particularly seasoned with saffron. The cuisine of Kashmir is strongly influenced by the Mughals and so the food here is predominantly non-vegetarian, with chicken, mutton and fish, being the prime ingredients.
Cities: In this Tour we would be covering 5 Cities for sightseeing: They are Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Pahalgam & Doodhpathri.
You would be staying 3 Nights in Srinagar 1N House Boat at Nigeen Lake + 2N at Srinagar Hotel + 2N at Pahalgam hotel + 1N in Sonmarg. However we would be covering all 5 cities sightseeing (Gulamarg & Doodhpathri sightseeing which is just 2hrs drive from Srinagar but stay back in Srinagar).
Soon you arrive at Srinagar Airport you will be accompanied by the representative of MSR Tours & Travels to the Luxurious Houseboat via Shikara that is pre-booked. On arrival at the houseboat, you will check-in & relax. Authentic Kashmiri Veg/Nonvegan lunch will be served in the Houseboat. Post lunch you will start your sightseeing to the banks of Jhelum River from where you can catch the beautiful flowers surrounding, in the summer capital of Kashmir followed by Dry fruits, Kashmiri handicrafts, Shikaras and wooden Mosques.
Also, cherish moments with your dear ones at the vast stretches of the Himalayas and on the shikara ride in the Dal Lake followed by a Leisure walk in Chashme-Shahi, Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Garden, Other places to see are Pari Mahal, Shankaracharya Temple. Dal Lake is the second largest lake in Kashmir and is popularly visited by the tourists every year for cruising and houseboat stays. Moreover, take a stroll along the beautiful parks and return to the houseboat at the end of the day and stay overnight after having dinner at Mughal Darbar (must try half plate Wazwan).
Shikara Ride at early morning next day to enjoy the morning view of Kashmir
Wake up to the early morning breakfast and go out on a drive to Sonmarg that means the Meadow of Gold in the local dialect. You will find yourself at an elevated height of 2800 meters and count on the views of Amarnath Peak, Kaohoi Glacier, Machoi Peak and Sirbal Peak along with quality time in the Azure Nallah Sidh River. Go out on hiring a pony for an exciting horse ride to reach the snow-clad Thajwas Glacier. Wind up the day with your return and stay overnight at Rah Villas Sonmarg. In the wake of the morning breakfast, check out from your Sonmarg Hotel & you will pack and prepare to leave for Pahalgam.
Pahalgam is a popular hill station that is located on the banks of Lidder River that trkkers and nature lovers love to discover. If you are here, you will come across River rafting in River Lidder along with angling, followed by some attraction spot like; Avantipur ruins, Anantnag, Betab Valley and so on. Return to the hotel after shopping famous items for souvenirs like Pashmina Shawals, wooden apparel along with some handicrafts and wooden objects. Stay overnight dinner at Hotel Wild Flower for 2 Nights which would be prebooked by us.
Post Breakfast visit Chandan & Aru Valley.
Chandanwari is famous for being the base, or starting point, to the famous Hindu pilgrimage site, Shri Amarnath Yatra
The Aru valley is noted for its Scenic meadows. It is popular among the tourists for its peaceful environment and scenic beauty.
The village is a base camp for trekkers to the Kolahoi Glacier, the Tarsar-Marsar lakes and the Katrinag valley.
There are about 20 alpine lakes, peaks and meadows around the Aru Valley. In the winters, when Aru receives heavy snowfall, skiing and heliskiing are practiced. Other popular tourist activities include fishing of trout in the Lidder river, trekking, hiking, horse riding, sightseeing and photography.
After having breakfast, you will start with your fifth day on a beautiful note. Set out on a guided transfer to Gulmarg that means Meadows of Flowers, after checking out from Sonmarg. This place is perched at an elevation of 2730 meters and is also renowned as “The Heartland of Winter Sports of India” and rated it as Asias’s Seventh Best SKI Destination. Check-in the hotel after undergoing the formalities and enjoy a ropeway ride to Khilanmarg. Further, also experience the Gulmarg Gondola that is the highest and longest cable car ride of Asia and will offer you delightful experiences. You will catch insights of the Kongdoori Mountain,which is close to Apharwat Peak where you can come across many adventurous activities like, rock climbing, sking and trekking. Post having the morning Breakfast, start with your journey to Doodthpathri from Srinagar.
Doodhpathri (translation; Valley of Milk) is a tourist destination and a hill station in the Indian administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Doodhpathri is a beautiful meadow with emerald grass that looks like a green carpet. A beautiful river dancing and reverberating with the wind flows in the middle of the meadow, lending it a splendid charm and vibrancy. The place looks very beautiful and pleasant. The green grass under the feet is really wonderful.
Doodhpathri however is a recent inclusion in the Jammu Kashmir tourist map. This is the reason that the
place is not overcrowded and not many tourists visit here.
