Padmanabhaswammy Temple: Historians say the temple dates back to the 8th century but the present structure was built in the 18th century by the then Travancore Maharaja Marthanda Varma. The temple is built in the unique Chera style of architecture, and its main deity is Lord Vishnu who is found in the Anantha Shayana posture (reclined posture of eternal yoga) on Adishesha or king of all serpents. It is known to be one of the 108 holy temples associated with Vaishnavism in India. It has been consider as the Richest Temple in the World.
Napier Musuem: The Napier Museum is an art and natural history museum situated in Thiruvananthapuram, India. The architecture of the museum is a mix of Indian, Chinese, Kerala, and Mughal styles. The Museum grounds also hold the famous Trivandrum Zoo, which is one of the oldest zoological gardens in India.

Boating at Poovar Backwaters : Poovar is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Thiruvananthapuram. It’s famous for it’s backwater cruises, floating restaurants and golden sand beach. Boating at Poovar is an ideal refreshing activity in a long drive in between Thiruvananthapuram and Kanyakumari. If you can plan your boating at Poovar in the early hours of the day, it will give a golden opportunity for bird watching and bird photography. Evening boat rides in Poovar is ideal for visiting the golden sand beach and stay on the beach till the sunset. Here you can also experience canopy boating.

Vivekananda Rock Memorial: Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a popular tourist monument in Kanyakumari, India. It was built in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda, who is said to have attained enlightenment on the rock. According to legends, it was on this rock that Goddess Kanyakumari performed tapas in devotion of lord Shiva.
How to Reach: (you need to take boat to reach there) It normally takes twenty minutes to buy the ticket and aboard the ferry. Ferry ride is hardly ten minutes, and it is round Robin ferry service to Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar Memorial. From the land first stop is Vivekananda Rock; one can get down there and go around (may be 45 minutes) and take the next boat to Thruvalluvar Memorial; which is hardly few ten meters away but in mid of water again and spend about 45 minutes there and take the next boat back to land.
Ticket cost: Vivekananda Rock has entry ticket of Rs.20 (at the moment) and has meditation hall and kumari temple and around the rock sea view path. Ticket is available only the counter and is not difficult to get.
Total round trip for both Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar Memorial right from ticket queue will take on an average two hours. On season time (holidays, festival time and long weekends, it may take another 30 minutes extra. If time permits visit the Government Musuem nearby.
