This morning we will take you for full day Kathmandu City tour. The Pashupatinath Temple is a famous, sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Pashupatinath and is located on the banks of the Bagmati River 5 kilometres north-east of Kathmandu Valley in the eastern city of Kathmandu the capital of Nepal. This temple is considered one of the sacred temples of Hindu faith .The temple serves as the seat of the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath. This temple complex is on UNESCO World Heritage Sites's list Since 1979. This "extensive Hindu temple precinct" is a "sprawling collection of temples, ashrams, images and inscriptions raised over the centuries along the banks of the sacred Bagmati river". We then continue to the holiest shrine for the Buddhist culture in Nepal, Bouddhanath, with its large stupa, this is the place where Buddhists devout come for a pilgrimage. Post that we take you for a visit to Budhanilkantha. Budhanilkantha Temple, located in Budhanilkantha, Nepal, is a Hindu open air temple dedicated to Lord Mahavishnu. Budhanilkantha Temple is situated below the Shivapuri Hill at the northern end of the Kathmandu valley. and can be identified by a large reclining statue of Lord Mahavishnu.. You will then go to Swayambhunath the golden spire of the 5th-century Swayambhu stupa is adorned with a colorful fluttering of prayer flags; it crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley and offers fantastic views over the city of Kathmandu. Swayambhunath is one of the most recognizable symbols in Nepal and the painted eyes of Buddha watch all who ascend the worn stone steps.
Drive to Chitwan. Chitwan is 175 Km from Kathmandu & is a 05 hours drive from Kathmandu. An elephant-back safari in the jungles of the Royal Chitwan National Park is a must for every visitor to Nepal. Less than 60 miles south of the Great Himalayan Range in Nepal's sub-tropical Terai lowlands (600 ft), Chitwan is one of Asia's premier wildlife reserves. Its 360 square miles of tall grasslands and forests are home to a wide variety of mammals and birds, including several endangered species. The park is most famous for Bengal Tiger, rare Gharial and Marsh Mugger crocodile and a large population of Asian rhinoceros. Overnight at hotel.On the way you have an option at an extra cost of doing the river rafting or visit the Manakamana Temple “ Goddess of Fulfilling Wishes” where you are taken by a cable ride of 10 mins ( Inr. 525 per person for the cable car tickets if required ). Today we explore Chitwan National park. The highlight being the Elephant Safari in the jungle. The national park area of Sauraha is most suitable for elephant ride. Elephant ride is also the safest way to enter the jungle while one can observe wild animals and birds from up close. One can enter the dense forest of Sauraha and view the wildlife from close proximity during the elephant ride. It feels very exciting and novel to move along through the quiet forest listening to the sound of wild birds singing from on top of the elephant back. There is also a slogan "Visit Chitwan, Ride Elephant" popularized for promotion of tourism in Sauraha. Four persons can ride an elephant at one time. Canoeing : Float down the picturesque Rapti river enjoying beautiful views of the Himalayan foothills and spot innumerable rhinoceroses, gharials and birdlife. Get a chance to spot Chitwan’s rich diversity of wild life including One horned rhinos, wild boar, spotted and hog deer, Mugger crocodiles and Gharials basking on banks, storks, ducks, kingfishers along with otters, turtles and if lucky, even a fishing cat are some of the creatures to watch out for. Other activities are Tharu Dance, Elephant bathing, Nature Walk and Bird Watching etc are included.
Drive back to Kathmandu retracing the same path & transfer to hotel. Rest day at leisure. One can indulge in shopping or visit casinos on your own. Overnight at hotel.
Morning will be comparatively free and closer to the time of your flight , you will be transferred to the airport in time to board your flight for onward journey.
